Reporting to: Regional Director (Clinical) and Clinical Director
Liaison with: Clinical MDT, Education and Residential Care Colleagues, Parents, Carers, and External Agencies

Role Overview:

Step into a rewarding career as an Occupational Therapist, where you will be part of a dedicated Multidisciplinary Clinical Services Team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people by providing high-quality assessment and intervention. Collaborate with Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Creative/Talking Therapists to develop therapeutic plans that meet EHCP requirements and enhance access to learning and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

– Utilise advanced specialist knowledge to assess motor, perceptual, and sensory integration skills, identifying how differences impact function and participation.
– Develop and implement personalised therapeutic interventions, including 1:1 work, group sessions, and whole-class activities.
– Write comprehensive reports to support young people, education, and care staff, and inform annual reviews.
– Provide line management and clinical supervision to Therapies Assistants and support Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists.
– Engage in service and practice development, identifying training needs and facilitating sessions for staff and parents/carers.
– Maintain accurate online records in line with professional and legal requirements for confidentiality and data protection.

Person Specification:

Essential:

– Recognised course of study fulfilling HCPC membership requirements.
– Member of RCOT.
– Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
– Experience with developmental trauma, neurodiversity, and Special Educational Needs.
– Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
– Excellent communication skills and time management.
– Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

– Awareness of mental health issues.
– Experience in schools and/or care homes.
– Experience in group work with young people.

– Experience delivering training to parents and/or professionals.
– Qualification or knowledge of Sensory Integration.
