Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
– Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine pupils’ speech and language needs.
– Identify areas of difficulty and develop individualized therapy plans.

Therapy Provision:
– Provide direct therapy services, both individually and in group settings.
– Implement evidence-based intervention strategies tailored to each pupil.

Collaboration and Consultation:
– Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
– Provide guidance on implementing communication strategies within the school environment.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
– Monitor pupil progress through ongoing assessment and data collection.
– Maintain accurate records and prepare regular progress reports.

Training and Professional Development:
– Stay updated with current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
– Participate in relevant training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:
– Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
– Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
– Experience working with children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs, preferably in a school setting.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
